The Mendocino-Lake Community College District hired LACO Associates to explore the feasibility of constructing a secondary emergency access road from the Ukiah college campus to a point of connection to Orr Springs Road to the south of the existing campus. The scope of services included land surveying, geotechnical engineering, and preliminary civil engineering design to evaluate the potential and develop recommendation for the district to consider for future funding of the design and construction of the proposed secondary emergency access road.

At the completion of the feasibility phase of the project, The Mendocino-Lake Community College District hired LACO develop detailed plans for the construction of a 1-mile-long secondary emergency access road from the Ukiah college campus to a point of connection to Orr Springs Road to the south and southwest of the existing campus.

The scope of services included internal project management, design level land survey and mapping, design level geotechnical report, civil engineering design and associated design documentation and agency permit processing.

LACO continued to support the district with the pre-construction process, developing project specifications, and bid documents and assisting with the bidding process. After the selected a contractor and awarded the contract LACO was retained to provide construction management support throughout the duration of the construction project.

Services included construction staking, construction observation and monitoring, resource agency permit compliance, reviewing contractor payment applications, and weekly aerial drone monitoring.
