Zack Hansen, CESSWI, QSP, QISP

Associate Surveyor

Mr. Hansen has served as a Staff Engineer at LACO Associates since 2017.  He is assigned to the Environmental Department. Mr. Hansen originally joined the staff as a storm water inspector and worked on Construction General Permit Projects. His current work has expanded to include grading, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, Industrial General Permit applications, AutoCAD Civil 3D and construction management.  Mr. Hansen’s areas of expertise include erosion and sediment control, and he is certified in storm water disciplines related to construction and industrial sites.

Before working at LACO, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?
“I worked at Boeing, Rocketdyne in the San Fernando Valley for 4 years. We built and tested rocket engines for the Space Shuttle, Atlas and Delta programs. “

How has LACO helped you in your career development?
“Since working for LACO I have entered the civil engineering realm from a degree in mechanical engineering, so it has been a very steep learning curve. I am learning civil design, AutoCAD Civil 3D, structural engineering and am heavily involved in our storm water program.”

What is the first concert you ever attended?
“My first concert was Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum in my senior year in high school. We took the day off school and drove down to see Body Count, Metallica, and Guns & Roses. We got lost on the way back at 3am!”
